Welp it’s been about 2.5 weeks living in Colorado now. The lungs started out a bit rough during my first week but I am starting to feel better. I’ve heard it takes about a full month living here to really adjust so I’m trying not to be toooo hard on myself. Let’s GO red blood cells 😉
Plus allergies and the dry air kicked my butt right away. Super dry throat, cough, red/itchy eyes – just a bundle of fun don’t ya know! Finally feeling better, more organized, and am ready to tackle this altitude craziness!!
I’ve still managed to get out and explore my new city! LOVE that I can pop out my front door and literally hit multiple trails. I’ve explored the Platte River going both ways and have also taken the Cherry Creek Trail.
SO excited to be training in this beautiful state of Colorado and earn redemption at my second half Ironman – 70.3 Boulder babay! Cannot believe the event is less than 3 months away (June 11th). Ahhh that snuck up fast. Time to get in super serious training mode. Huge thanks to my Coeur Sports teammate Erin of Sweet Sweat Life for helping organize my training plans. Between adjusting to moving, working, and finding a convenient pool it’s been a cluster. I do SO much better on a specific training plan as opposed to winging it. Sooo she’s a race-saver
I am still a very long way of hitting my goal of $2,000 being donated towards helping to end prostate cancer. I need to raise $1,824 more to even participate in Ironman 70.3 Boulder. Seriously ANYthing you can give will help towards this main 2016 goal. All for a very good cause! Talk about two birds baby!
