This past weekend we headed to the cabin for a lil girlfriend getaway
With everyone’s hectic schedules these days it can be tough to find time to all get together. When a weekend worked out with five of my closest girlfriends I was ecstatic! This is the third year that a lil group of us pack up and head to my family cabin…in the winter.
Winter getaways are beyond much needed. Most choose warm, beach spots or scenic, mountain towns…but a budget-friendly, quick option is always the local cabin! Just the idea of “getting away” is enough to make me pack my bags!
We had lots to celebrate! Recent long-coming engagement, new careers…and an always-appropriate 30th birthday party!
Summer vs. Winter
A much different experience in the winter. The packing list and activities are totally opposite yet both include eating, drinking and cards–OBVI!
Summer: bathing suit, towel, sunscreen, boating, bonfire, ATV-ing, volleyball, grilling…
Winter: snowpants, hats/mittens, indoor games, ice fishing, snowmobiling…
One of the girls bought a whole photo booth set for $6 and it was a hit! We were taking random pics with the props all weekend like the goofballs we are! Another of the gals brought this homemade jeopardy game that was incredible! Super creative and entertaining. We were all cracking up
Love the taste of cinnamon whiskey. But def cannot drink er like I used to. After a full morn of mimosas and shots out on the frozen lake it was time for a nap for me. I’m 30 and that’s just A-ok. Cutting down on the booziness that’s fo sho.
I am beyond thankful for this group of amazing women. You are all so successful and amazing people. Hoping to continue the winter cabin tradition and look back and say “wow we’ve been doing this for 23 years!” WOAH.
