This past month I have been partaking in a life-changing health journey. I have always been disciplined with my fitness but not so much my nutrition. My best friend was telling me about her experience and results with a 30-day system cleanse. I’ve always been intrigued but hesitant with these so I decided to do my research.
And I liked what I read and saw – so I pulled the trigger.
– Needed a jump-start or re-boot to a healthy consistent lifestyle!
– Was spending way too much going out to eat. Coffee, lunch, happy hour, dinner, unnecessary groceries
– Always have a bloated feeling. Very uncomfortable
– Never had a flat stomach. Would cry to see my abs!
– Never given myself an honest shot at sticking by a nutrition plan
– Freaking hate diets and fads
– Eat whatever I want, whenever I want. Can’t do that anymore – I’m 30! Bahhh
I decided to track my journey and daily thoughts to share my experience with others.
Day 1 – Not too shabby. More just confused at when I take what but I have a ton of support and guidance to help keep me on track.
Day 2 – A bit tired and a lil “hangry”. Honestly I thought I’d be a lot worse at this point. I like yummy food and it’s been two days bah! Already feeling lighter though and so ready to commit to this cleanse.
Day 3 – First “cleanse day”. I thought this would be absolute torture but it was not bad for me at all. It absolutely helps to have the hourly schedule. This allows you to simply take it hour-by-hour and not freak out that you won’t have an actual meal for a bit.
Day 4 – Second cleanse day. The chocolates make cleanse days easy, worth it, and darn right kinda fun. I don’t eat chocolates 4 times throughout my normal day so you start to feel kinda spoiled!
Day 5 – Lost 7 pounds and 8.25 inches. Have not seen my number on the scale since high school. What?! Feeling proud…and light
Day 6 – First Friday was tough. I’m a social bee. I wanted to go out to eat and have a glass of wine. So I did hehe. But it was a tiny glass of wine and the only one. I held myself back from numerous temptations with food and feel darn proud of myself.
Day 7 – First Saturday was tougher. Started out amazing with a long run and shake. Then I went to the MN Twins game with a few girlfriends. I had told myself earlier that I hold to max 3 vodka/water/lemon drinks (the healthiest drink possible ha) and I actually only had 2! WEE HOO! I brought my Whey Thin snacks, which I’m freakin obsessed with, and didn’t order any stadium food. That is a very first for me! #winning
Day 8 – Sunday marks one week. Ready to be strict with this again and pumped to see the results of the upcoming week. Lovely hot yoga class to start the day and get my focus and mindset back.
Day 9 – Third cleanse day. I moved my days up by one to best fit my workout schedule. I have a double-header soccer championship on Wednesday eve that I can’t miss so I definitely needed fuel! Not trying to pass out or kill myself here!
Day 10 – Last cleanse day – can I get a holla?! It was tough to stay strong but I made it!
Day 11 – Haven’t had the bloated feeling in a long time, more consistent energy (no afternoon crashes), skin looks great. Feeling more confident about my body and am rejuvenated to continue to eat healthy and maintain the health and body I want.
|Down 7.8 lbs and 13.75 inches!|
|Down 8.6 lbs and 18.75 inches!|
I still have a ways to go to maintain the body that I want…but I know I’m on the right track.
