Week 1 of 2017 was quite the success. Started my new job, got back in to swimming, made new connections, went surfing, and obviously – launched my new “My Monday Motivator” series!

But on to week 2 and what has me super motivated this week is re-committing to living a healthy lifestyle.
After three months of living in Maui I am finally feeling pretty settled. It took a bit for it to sink in that I actually live here. It was weird not to have a flight home (or any idea of when I’d be home again).
Now I know where to go for cheaper gas, and certain groceries, and the best car wash. I am feeling more settled and truly at home.
In April 2015 I did my first 30 day healthy reboot. I was very skeptical at first as I absolutely hate fads, gimmicks, and quick fixes. Even if it works in that moment it does not sustain long-term so there is truly no point. But my results astonished me. 8.6 pounds and 18.75 inches SHED!

My First Challenge
So I continued. I found it was absolutely something I could sustain long-term as it was easy to incorporate into my life.
But then I moved – twice. Minnesota to Colorado. Colorado to Hawaii. And super fell out of my routine.
It takes me getting in to more of a routine to finally get my rhythm down. When I am at ease in my routine I know I can commit to an overall healthier me. And I am SO ready to commit again! I miss how I felt before. Healthy, light, happy, organized, energetic. Come back!
I officially started another 30 day reboot Jan 1 and happy I did as I feel SO much better already.

Day 1 vs. 5
Losing weight is not the only reason I choose to do this. The other perks include:
– No bloated feeling – eating like crap always makes me feel nasty and uncomfortable
– SO MUCH ENERGY – yep, even for me!
– Cooking at home and not eating out – healthier, cheaper, and my bank account thanks me
– Sleeping better – early to bed, early to rise = productive
– No alcohol – better sleep, no junk food, no drama
– Clear skin – so smooth and fresh feeling!
I am an overall healthier person. A better daughter/sister/aunt. A better roommate. A better friend. A better employee/co-worker. A better athlete. A better human being.
And that has me ALL sorts of motivated.
What has YOU motivated to start the second week of the year out right? Would love to hear!
