As some of you may know I am training for Ironman 70.3 Miami 10/25. Some of you may also know that I am in no way, shape, or form a swimmer! Yes – I can swim but I’ve never actually learned form and technique. And have definitely never swam competitively besides the 3 triathlons I’ve completed. Sooo I’ve kinda been winging it!
Anyone have any recommendation for lessons or master classes in the Twin Cities?! I’m sure that would be night and day for me.
My fav place to get in my long swim workouts has absolutely been our family cabin. Something about it actually feels so relaxing and at home. I know the lake so well as I’ve been going to the cabin for 25 years now. Holy smokes.
4th of July Weekend – Boating with Dad
I finally invested in a wetsuit and this was my first time practicing in it. Also one week prior to Life Time Tri – my 1st international distance triathlon! Talk about buoyancy! These things are freaking incredible. Too bad the ocean will prob be too warm to allow wetsuits in Miami. Yikes.

Random Cabin Weekend (Aug 15) – Boating with Friend
My friend and I made a last minute decision to head up to the cabin one weekend. It’s SO nice having a cabin only an hour away to be able to do that! I was sure pooped after this mile training swim as it was my first time without a wetsuit at this distance. Might as well torture myself now in training to prepare – right?

Good thing we popped some bubbly on the boat after. Rewards I tell you 😉
My dad was away at the “shop” doing man things so my mom gratiously offered to come in the boat with me. This may not seem like a big deal to ya but she hasn’t made it out in the boat in YEARS. Not her thing! It meant the world to me that she made the sacrifice for me. Love you mom
