Hard to believe TWO WEEKS from today I will be putting my body through it’s hardest task yet –Ironman 70.3 Miami. Beyond excited/nervous…but mostly pumped! I mean I’m goin to Miami – Buenvenidos a Miami!! Ok Will Smith 😉
But really…I can’t stop watching the video. Pumps me UP!
On to the fun stuff! Here’s a lil update on how my training is going
I for one have HIGHLY enjoyed this fall weather thus far. It has been incredibly gorgeous here in Minneapolis so no complaints here! I did not expect to get in these last few open water swims but I managed it. It was 85 degrees here today (like woah) so I went for it. Let’s just say I’m glad I had a wetsuit and the water was not as warm as the air ha. Woke me up and was a fun, refreshing swim
Since Miami is tropical (not complaining) a wetsuit will not be legal to wear. I was SO thankful to learn that there is an alternative – a Roka Viper Skin! This tight fitting morsel will help me survive my first competitive swim in an ocean. Very grateful The amazing news is they are 50% off right now for their end of season sale! Highly recommend!
I’ve been out a few long rides throughout my training. Each time I try and have a little fun with them! One time I met a girlfriend at Lake Harriet and rode part of the long ride with her. Another time I headed to the Twin Cities Marathon with a friend to cheer on the racers!
Just yesterday I biked over to grab brunch with a group of friends. 30 mins to get there and enjoyed another 2 hours of biking after. Talk about working off brunch 😉
I have absolutely been loving running in this fall weather. Not only is the slight breeze perfect running conditions but the VIEW! People prob think I’m nuts as I wear a constant grin as I’m running through these gorgeous fall trails.
Blessing in Disguise
I was in a little car accident a few weeks ago when someone rear-ended me. I don’t believe she was paying attention as I heard the loud screeching tires and then BOOM. My neck has been giving me a little trouble ever since so I headed to the chiro.
They have been very thorough and I actually see this as a blessing in disguise as my body is overall falling apart ha. Through X-rays they saw that my neck was definitely recently jolted so we’ve been working through that. I also have lower back issues, which is why my hip has been giving me trouble. And of course my ankles. Numerous injuries through years of soccer growing up. So I am glad I am finally addressing all these issues!
Hoping my efforts towards treating my body right pays off. Two weeks till the big day!!
